Hari Gawai Celebration 2016

Having such an awesome time celebrating Gawai last night at Auntie Magdelene's house. Since I'm too far away from my hometown so I couldn't celebrate both Gawai and Kaamatan Festivals (I'm mix Iban and Dusun so I celebrate both festivals) with my big family and friends in Malaysia. Here, we only celebrate Gawai because most of my mom's friends are from Sarawak and we just celebrate with makan-makan.

Foods everywhere :'D
Gawai beauties !

That's it! Kotobian Tadau Tagazo do Kaamatan and Gayu Guru Gerai Nyamai ! :)

May Mini Haul

Howdy y'all!
Today I'm going to write about my very first haul post. I don't even know what haul is before and I did some researched about it to be honest. So, here's my mini haul for this month.

As the weekends have progressed I've managed to pick up a few things from Walmart and Marshalls. I usually shopping for clothes or something else instead of make-ups but this time I spent way to much for beauty products. This is everything that I've picked up and all this things costs for $50 (tax excluded).

WALMART
At fist, we planned to go to Walmart just wanted to buy Fisheye for my sister but turned out I shop a lot of makeup products. This is my first time purchased e.l.f products. I think I started to fall in love with this product since all this things are affordable and good quality.

1. e.l.f Blemish Control Primer ($6) - I had been wanting to try primer for quite a while but to scared to try. I don't want to wasting money on products that only differ in price-not quality. I never really use primers to be honest and would just use moisturizer but I figured for the prices. I would try it out. They have few types of primers by the way. Took almost half an hour to figured out which one is the best for me. I almost grab both Blemish Control and Poreless Face Primer.

2. e.l.f Perfect Finish HD Powder ($6) - I don't know why I bought this actually. Somehow it reminds me, my make up before doesn't keep on all day. I wasn't sure at first if I should buy this product as wasn't sure if it would suit my skin because it's white and I was worried I'd look like a ghost or cake up on me. But from the reviews that I read, it mattifies your skin without making it look like you put powder on your face.

3. e.l.f Makeup Mist & Set ($3) - I always wanted to have setting spray as my makeup doesn't last long. This setting spray is alcohol free and contains moisturizers. This is my first setting spray by the way.

4. e.l.f Eyelash Curler ($2) - I do have eyelash curler and still in good condition. But it does not curl my eyelashes at all so I decided to buy a new one.

5. e.l.f Powder Brush ($3) - I bought this as a set with Perfect Finish HD Powder :)

6. L'Oréal Feria Midnight Collection Hair Color, M32 Violet Soft Black ($8.97) - Bought this because wanting to change my hair color. I am so disappointed with how this hair dye experience turned out, did not change the color at all.

MARSHALLS
We went to Marshalls to shop for clothing but still end up with beauty product. Marshalls has become one of my go-to stores to find trendy items and the items are affordable.

1. SPASCRIPTIONS Brightening Under-Eye Pads ($3.99) - I bought this because it's consider cheap (I guess). Hoping it help illuminate the dull under eye area to reduce the appearance of dark circles.

2. SPASCRIPTIONS Brightening Spa Treatment Mask ($4.99) - My face is a bit darker than my hands which is I don't understand why. Most people have darker hand than their face. I think my hand more exposed to the environment and sun. So by buying this, I'm hoping that it can whitening my face a bit hmmm.

3. Sunglass ($9.99) - My sister recommended this to me because she bought this kind of sunglass with my mom last week. It's for fun since it's cheap. Annnnnd we're ready for summer B-)

That's all for this mini haul. I hope you have enjoyed reading as much as I have writing it. Thankyou so much for reading and I'll see you in my next post.

What's on My Bedside Table?

Currently, I'm in a writer's block and the struggle is real. I just do not know what I'm going to write about. Was googling for blog ideas last night and I found some interesting ideas. I choose to write about "What's on My Bedside Table" when I saw this posts popping up on a number of other blogs. I thought it would be interesting to share with you a few things which I like to keep on my bedside table.

This is how my bedside table usually looks like. I should mention that my bedside table is no where near this tidy every day because come on, let's be honest, there are days when it looks like it's been hit by a tornado. I did have to do a slight declutter beforehand. Let's get closer to the items.

First thing first, my 2 iPhone and iPad Mini I like to have my iPhone within reach so if I'm in bed it will be right there next to me charging away and use my iPhone as my alarm clock. I usually use my iPad to watch Youtube Videos or listen to the music before I go to sleep. And yes, I'm clumsy as you can see all my smartphones screen are cracked. Next to my smartphones, a small plate (?) where I put all my bobby pins. That small plate is actually a spoon rest from my colleague and I she just gave it to me this morning (it's her birthday present by the way). I put this thing in my bedroom instead of in the kitchen because we already have two of it and for sure my mom don't what this in her kitchen.

I always keep a stack of books next to my bed that I plan on reading, slim journal, colored pencils and coloring book.

Texas Driver's Handbook - I really need to read this book becaus soon I'm taking my driving test soon but I manage to read first page only xD

Peaceful Paisleys & 2set of colored pencils - I posted about this coloring book before. I used to bring it everywhere but recently I just put it on my bedside table. Sometimes when I'm wide awake, I'll do coloring with my 2 set of colored pencils.

Self Meditation - I don't know why I grab this book to be honest. There are 3,299 tips, quotes, reminders and wake-up calls for peace and serenity for only $7.98. I did read some of it and it's really a good book though.

The Great Controversy & Holy Bible - It's a must for me to keep this book next to bed even though I'm not that religious person. I do read this book every Friday night since that the next I'm going to church. And sometimes I read Holy Bible to calm me down whenever I get extreme nightmares.

On top of Self Meditation is my slim journal that I just  bought today too - I keep a journal by my bedside for all the blog or just in case I need to jot something down.

Scented Candle - I bought this Tyler Candle Company today. I'm slightly addicted scented candles recently. And my mom do have plenty of them, all around house and I noticed that most women loves candles and at least have one in their house.

Rubix Cube, cute turtle tortoise and tiny teddy bear (?) and Kleenex Tissue - I put these on purpose.
Hand lotion & Vanilla Bean Noel - My stepsister gave both as a Christmas present last year.
Jeju Pure Water - It's a normal drinking water actually but I got it from Korean Air.

So that's my bedside table and I hope you found this somewhat interesting. What do you keep on yours? :) Leave me a comment telling me what you keep on your bedside table, I'd love to know. ;)

Malaysian Food I Miss the Most

It's about 5 months I had been away from Malaysia. Wow, how time flies huh. I think this is the longest time I've been away from Malaysia. To be honest, I miss the hot weather, the food and all my dearest friends and family in Malaysia. As a food lover, the first thing I want to do when I'm back to Malaysia is food hunting :)

What Malaysian food do I miss the most? The list is endless. Here I simply list out top 5 foods that I miss the most.

Ayam Penyet - Ayam Penyet is my priority. I know it's from Jawa, Indonesia but it can be easily found in Malaysia. I don't really like it before and started to like it since two years ago which is I don't know why. It doesn't look fancy but it's still yum tho.

Nasi Ayam / Hainanese Chicken Rice - Ahhh when it comes to Nasi Ayam Hainanese, Nasi Ayam Hainan Chee Meng, Bukit Bintang is the first place that will cross in my mind when thinking about it. Their Nasi Ayam is so good and the price is affordable. Never miss their Nasi Ayam every time I come down to Bukit Bintang.

Sayap Ayam Panggang / Satay - Sayap Ayam and Satay are very famous street foods in Sabah. It's fair enough to say that I grew up eating this. I mean, my grandparents bought this for me twice a week or everytime they went to Pasar Malam.

Bambangan + Ikan Masin + Lada Putih - Bambangan is Sabah's tradition food. It's kind of fruit which I believe is from mango family but more like wild mango. Bambangan usually made into pickle. Well, I don't really know how to describe this because I just learned to eat bambangan last year or 2 years ago. I get sick when I eat that for the first time. And, I only eat bambangan when it cooks with salted fish and lada putih.

Mee Sup Ungau - Ahh, this soup, I only can get this in my hometown. Everyday before going to school or after back from school, I always went there waiting for my bus and my grandpa to pick me up to back home. I called it Mee Sup Ungau because Ungau is the chef's name since that place doesn't have name and her kedai sup is quite famous in my hometown. I remember when I'm back from KL, my grandparents bought it every single day for me hahaha and I never get bored of it.

Other than that, I really miss Cendol / Ice Kacang, Nasi Lemak, Laksa Penang, Teh Tarik, Roti Canai and all the Malaysian food  haha. The reason why Nasi Lemak, Laksa, Teh Tarik and Roti Canai not on my top list because I can get it here. My mom can cook it for me and there are several Malaysian Cuisine here though it doesn't taste exactly the same as in Malaysia.

I better stop now before my saliva glands go into overdrive. I just ate dinner yet I'm suddenly hungry again.

Free Sample Food | HONEYBAKED HAM

Howdy y'all.
Just a quick update! I was so confused this morning of what I wanna eat for lunch. I brought ravioli shrimp but I don't feel want to eat that so suddenly (weird). And I don't even know what I want.  It always happens to me, like you are super hungry but you don't know what you want to eat. Am I the only one like that?

So, before our lunch time, suddenly there's a guy came to the office with 2 boxes of food. Guess what, we got the free sample sandwich from Honeybaked, yeay!! There are two types of sandwich, Ham Classic  and Roasted Turkey Classic. I grabbed the  Roasted Turkey Classic instead of Ham Classic because I don't know what kind of ham they served.
Signature Boxed Lunch includes a sandwich, sides (Chips) and dessert (cookies). It's $8.29 each with delivery fees may be around $2 and they gave us for free. What a lucky day :)
Roasted Turkey Breast, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, savory mayo and hickory honey mustard on a baker's roll. It doesn't look fancy tho but who cares huh. It's kind of hard bite and cold, I don't if it's meant to be like that haha. And my colleague said she's not impressed with the sandwich and it's something that she can make it at home. But it FREE though, just eat it haha XD
We got free sample 2 days ago too. Chicken popcorn?? I don't know what they called it but it's so YUMMMMM! I wonder what kind of food we'll get next week hehehe. So these kind of people always come to the office and give us free sample / tester to advertise their business. That's it!
PS : TGIF! Yeayyyyyy, weekends!

SLEEPING PROBLEM | CHAMOMILE TEA

For five years (I think) I had problems sleeping and I wake up frequently once I get to sleep. Despite being tired and sleepy, I can stay up late until the next morning without drink any caffeine. Sometimes I get to sleep early around 9 o'clock to almost 11 o'clock, but then keep waking up around 12 o'clock to almost 5 o'clock and being unable to get back to sleep again.

I usually go to bed at a regular time and I don't drink much caffeine, well I drink coffee only in the morning. I'm very relaxed and not stressed but the moment I switch off the lights and shut my eyes, I automatically see so images in my head. It's like too much going on in my head yet I don't know what I'm thinking about. Especially when I had extreme nightmares 3 days or more in a row. Yes, I'm suffering from sleep paralysis too, which is why it's hard for me to get a good night sleep. (I probably write about this for the next entry)

Image from source
However, since last week, I have been drinking chamomile tea for almost every day and finally, I get a good night's sleep and no more waking up at night anymore. My stepdad recommended this Organic Chamomile Herbal tea to me and I really like it. I've tried other brand but it doesn't taste good like this one. Which is the main reason I never think wanted to drink chamomile tea after that. As my sleeping problem getting worse, I had no choice than to drink chamomile tea and thought I have to bear with the taste.

Chamomile can be used topically or orally to treat a number of everyday ailments, most commonly used as a natural sleep product for sleeping disorder such as insomnia. It may help to calm your nerves, reduce anxiety and promote sleep. So, if you've been having sleepless or restless nights, a steamy and soothing mug of chamomile tea at bedtime may be just what you need to sleep soundly through the night. Simply make a chamomile tea 30 to 45 minutes before going to bed.

Other than that, chamomile reduces cramping and pain in the bowels and also helps to relieve excessive gas and bloating in the intestines. Also, it's a good cure for migraine headaches, premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and menstrual cramps, treat  burns and scrapes etc.

Although chamomile is generally considered safe, some of the potential side effects of chamomile include drowsiness. You may have a higher risk of being allergic to chamomile tea if you are allergic to plants in the daisy family. Using chamomile during pregnancy is not recommended  as it may lead to miscarriage. - Source

PS: I keep waking up these two days, couldn't get a good sleep because I'm running out of chamomile tea so yeah. Seems like I really need to drink chamomile tea before sleep. Meh
