Malaysia Trip | October Wrap Up

Whew, it's already November huh. Halloween is over; next will be Thanksgiving and CHRISTMAS and then New Year's Eve. Almost at the end of the year 2016. How time flies so fast. A lot of things happen during this month and some of you might already know that I just back from Malaysia two weeks ago. I didn't have a chance to update my blog while I'm in Malaysia because I was so busy. So, today I'm going to post about my short vacation wrap up or 'October Wrap Up'. I know it's sort of late but better late than never, right?

FLIGHTS

Ohh, I'm sick with the plane right now. Not only because of the long flights but had to fly numerous times on the flight. From Houston to Kuala Lumpur itself took 20 hours and 40 minutes with layover 3 and half an hour in Taipei. The next day after arrival in Kuala Lumpur, I need to fly to Sandakan for almost 3 hours for my convocation. Two nights after that, flight to Kota Kinabalu and drive straight back to my hometown. After a week in the Kampong, flight back to Kuala Lumpur and spend five days before the long flight back to Houston. Approximately, I have been on the plane for seven times withing two weeks. No more flying after this because being inside the plane for a long time is not fun at all. Well, at least not for this year.

A WEEK IN SABAH

1. CONVOCATION IN SANDAKAN

The convocation was held at Four Points by Sheraton Sandakan on 8th of November, and we had to be there the day before. On Friday, we came a bit late for my convocation's registration at the hotel because the registration was started at 9 am. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, we checked in and then go to the registration desk and try my robe. And come back at 2 pm for convocation's rehearsal. That's when the jetlag hit me. I'm so tired and sleepy, like super tired and extremely sleepy. I've been caught fall asleep for a few times by my friends and other students. The day of my convocation, I felt bored for the entire time of the ceremony which is I don't know why. I'm not excited at all, and I was a bit grumpy. Whoever handled that event, it was so un-organize. I feel like, if I can turn back time, I wouldn't come ( or I'm expecting too much maybe?).

2. HOMETOWN (KOTA MARUDU)

I was so excited that after almost a year been away, I finally get back to my hometown and spend time with my family (especially my grandparent that I miss the most) and some of my friend. When I was in my hometown, I never stayed at home during the day and only back home when it's almost midnight, to sleep. Since my grandma was so clingy, that she always sticks with me even thou I wanted to hang out with my friends, we made a deal. During the day I'll spend time with her and other families (means I'll be her driver) and at night with my only friends. It was tiring, to be honest. I woke up early in the morning at 5 am, went out for the whole day and home when it's evening. Then, going out again to meet up with friends and home before midnight. And mind that I'm still jetlagged at the time and tried so hard to hold my sleepiness. Despite tiredness, I enjoyed every second I'm with them.

A WEEK IN KUALA LUMPUR

As soon as we arrived in KL, we dropped our luggage at home then mom took us out for late lunch. Because it's already late for lunch and we didn't have breakfast on the plane, I ate two sets of ayam penyet (talking about ayam penyet, I'm craving for it now). We thought that we'd get some rest or a lazy day. Guess I'm wrong. It was as busy as I am in Sabah, but at least I get to wake up late in KL. Almost every day I went out with my friends, and I'm happy that they're willing to spend their time with me while they were busy with their assignments.

FOODS

I didn't get to eat all the food on my list because I'm so busy spending my time with my family and friends. But I did get to eat some fruits (especially MANGGA) and some of my favorite food as shown above ( I forgot to snap all the food because you know when the foods in front of you and the only thing you want to do is EAT). And hell yeah, we brought lots of food all the way from Malaysia to Houston especially the ikan masin, ikan bilis, kicap cap kipas udang etc. I think for those who lived aboard can relate to this.

JETLAG

Compared from Houston to Malaysia and from Malaysia to Houston, I think jet lag is tougher when I'm back from Malaysia. Anyone who has crossed multiple time zones knows the misery of the jet lag. You're tired when you need to be alert, you can't sleep when supposed to. I almost fall asleep when I'm driving home (I did for a few seconds and realized that I'm driving at the center of the lane). As soon I'm home, I straightly went to my bed to sleep and woke up at midnight, and looking for food. I didn't sleep till morning and went to work after that. Suprisingly, I feel so energetic even thou I didn't sleep at night and get sleepy when it's 3 pm. Anyway, I'm getting better now and the good thing is I go to sleep early every night :)

Here  you go te summary of  my October Wrap up!

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS | LAST DAY

The next day, we woke up early and had our breakfast in hotel. Then, we back to the place that we went the night before. But this time, we entered the Louis Tussaud's Waxworks. We experienced near to life replicas of stars such as Marilyn Monroe, Jennifer Lopez alongside movie legends like Harry Potter and Twilight. There ae more than 200 figures inside and hey there's Obama the President of USA too xD. So this entry will full with lots of photos :)

Marilyn Monroe
The Haryy Potter casts and trying so hard to be one of them xD

King of Pop, Micheal Jackson. Before and AfterPrince William and Kate MiddletonFrom the first Oscar's winner 1992The Haunted House.
I'm quite disappointed with my sister that time because I really want to go inside the haunted house but she didn't want to go. It's too scary though. Scarier than I ever been to haunted house in Malaysia. We did go inside for only 5 minutes and it's only at the entrance haha. Then, get out from there.
You can hear how scared we are on this video. End of this video means we're ready to get out from there xD. Since that we're to scared, we just sit outside waiting for other people to come and go inside together. But seems like nobody dare to go xD and we heard other people before us screaming, out loud, inside the haunted house.

I found the video above from here and I was like, Thanks God I didn't go inside. It's hella scary. I'm so glad.
Before we end of the tour, me and my sister joined other people to 4D Moving Theater and had fun too :) After that, we back to the hotel and packing our stuff then check out. The end.

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS | DAY 1

Last February, my stepdad had a business meeting in San Antonio, Texas. So we took a chance to go for a short trip and spent a night at Embassy Suites by Hilton San Antonio Riverwalk-Downtown. The road trip took three hours from Houston. We arrived there around 1 o'clock, straight to the hotel and dropped our luggage. Then, we walk around the city before had our lunch.
The view from our room
REMEBER THE ALAMO!
After lunch, we went to The Alamo Mission, also known as The Mission San Antonio de Valero. The Alamo was originally a  church and became the site of a battle between Mexico and the Republic of Texas in 1836. Photography was prohibited inside the Alamo, so our photos are limited to the outside.
SAN ANTONIO RIVERWALK
One of the main attractions in San Antonio is the Riverwalk. It was located very close to The Alamo area. There are restaurants and shops set up all along the river., one story beneath the street of Downtown San Antonia, Texas, USA. I really enjoyed the view of the Riverwalk. So, we had our lunch and dinner around the Riverwalk.

My not so little sister volunteering herself to be my unprofessional model
PS: I would and could walking around for the whole day and every day along the Riverwalk because the view is so breathtaking.
RIPLEY'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT / LOUIS TUSSAUD'S WAXWORKS
At night, we went to Ripley's Believe It or Not! It's only me and my sister and the tickets to get in quite expensive though. But we got the 3 Way Combo Tickets ($28.99), means we can do three things; Ripley's Odditorium ($20.99), 4D Moving Theater ($20.99),  and Louis Tussaud Wax ($20.99). But at that night, we manage to explore the Ripley's Odditorium only and continue the next day.

The young Justin Bieber
I took this picture randomly, didn't know it could turn out like this xD
The guy hanging really scared ou of me to be honest

Oh, there's a big mirror inside and next to it, there's a video asked you if you can make a silly face from the video. So, I did, I did it repeatedly. After awhile, we continue to walk around suddenly there's a guy smiling at me and say that I'm funny and I should go at the back. And I was like "What are talking about? Who are you". We followed him to the back and there are lots of people. As soon as they saw me, everybody laughing at me while pointing at something. Guess what. The mirror that I play around before, it's a two-way mirror. As soon as I know what's going on, my face turned red. It's so embarrassing yet I laughed so hard too. Then, I joined them to watched other people doing the same thing as I did xD

We had so much fun inside. We even play around with other people that we don't even know after the mirror embarrassing moment. I still can't get over about it until now though. We are happy kids after all that time. And that was it! That's how we end our day that time :)

P/s :I prefer to upload all these pictures with my sister on it because it looks good and on point. I'm quite disappointed with my almost all my pictures, my sister is not so helpful.
